Allen had the opportunity to speak several times at IPC’s missions conference. He taught a class about how to reach our neighborhoods for Christ through missional communities. He also spoke on the importance of taking short-term mission trips. From the age of 12, Allen’s father began taking him on medical-mission trips all over Central America. And it was through a short-term mission trip that God called Allen and Sandi to Peru. For more on the importance of these types of trips, go here for a recent article.
Allen, along with Abigail and Adeline, had fun speaking to a kids group about Peru. They were particularly interested in the pictures of the newly discovered unreached people group found in the Amazon jungle, the Mascho Piro.
Allen taught the kids a few songs in Spanish. Adeline and some of her Memphis friends helped out by singing the girls part.
We are now visiting friends and family in Arkansas and Louisiana. Allen will be speaking this weekend at First Presbyterian Church in Gulfport, MS. Our final mission’s conference will be in Little Rock, AR at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Then we’ll be off back to Peru!
